Using a different background color for certain days

If you would like to display certain days with a different background color (e.g. work days or holidays), you can turn “Settings”, “Display and Use”, “General”, “Change background color on days where certain calendars (e.g. holiday calendars) have all-day events” on. Afterward tap “Calendars” to select which calendars should be taken into account. On days, where these calendars have all-day events, the day will get the background color of that calendar as in this screenshot:

The same function can also be used e.g. to mark workdays and holidays:

Mark certain time areas

If you work e.g. in certain time slots and would like to mark these times with a different color in the calendar you can turn some calendars on under "Settings > Display and Use > Day view > Events as background". These calendars will then be used to mark the background of your calendar. E.g. if you create a daily event from 11:00 to 20:00 in a green calendar and mark the green calendar in the "Events as background" function, the daily event will only be displayed as a background color afterward:

This way you can mark arbitrary time ranges in your calendar, just by adding events to the marked calendar.
